When and where was the shoot?
So far our group has completed 4 shoots and we have one more planned.
- One shoot took place on Tuesday 30th December 2014.
- We had another a few days later on the 3rd January 2015.
- Our third shoot was on the 11th January.
- We recently completed our fourth shoot on Saturday (17th)
My focus
- During all the shoots I have been doing a mixture of filming and acting.
My Contribution
- Whilst I am not needed on screen I have taken control of the camera.
- When needed on screen I have played my part as the friend of the troubled teen.
- I have also had input in deciding the angle and movement of shots.
To what extent did your storyboard affect your use of camera and framing?
-
We used our storyboard to see what angles we had previously decided we would film our shots from
- We also used it to ensure we filmed all the shots that we needed
What do you think worked particularly well? (+ visual evidence)
-
I think the shot we took of Millie appearing in the chair was effective due to the composition, lighting and mise-en-scene.
What were the challenges of this particular shoot (+visual evidence)
- We faced the challenge of lighting in our first shoot, we have done our best to overcome this by using a reflector and torches.
- We have also changed the time of day we film as it will be easier to darken shots in post production than it will be to lighten them.
How will you use this experience to inform your next shoot?
- We will continue to solve our lighting problem the same way as this has proved more effective so far.
- We also need to ensure we get a better variation of shot angles as we have many that are just in mid shot.
ok good comments James, it is usual and useful to do a reflection post for each shoot. You will now need to do a very detailed post on what you are hoping to achieve in your shoot on Saturday with a detailed shot list.
